I think I enjoy drawing people and faces the most out of all things. Hair is enjoyable too.

This is a painting I started many months ago. I worked bit by bit on it and kept putting off finishing it because the grass and trees on the right hand side were really frustrating and weren't turning out the way I wanted. Everything else turned out well though I think.

This is a remake of a painting by Thomas Kinkade from his book Simpler Times.

Drawing

It has always been drawing that was my primary art focus, however over the years I grew a strong interest in painting as well using variety of mediums. 

The first drawing I just finished today, and the second one I did probably about 4 years ago or so. I'm not actually a big fan of Christina Aguilera (although I do have great respect for that voice of hers), but I used to be when I was a lot younger so I had her CD lying around and decided to draw from it!

The pencils I use are Staedtler Mars Lumograph softlead pencils.

Naked

Self-portrait on 9x12in cold pressed water colour paper. My technique is a bit rough because this is the
first time I've used water colour in a long time ;). I need to practice faces and hair.

For a while I've had this desire to paint naked bodies. They're fascinating and beautiful and I want to paint them on huge canvases and display them all around my home.

Let's just say this is my first installment ;)

This painting is actually a remake I did of a painting called Beside Still Waters by Thomas Kinkade from his book Simpler Times. The image quality isn't very good as I took it with my phone. I ended up selling this painting to one of my old elementary school teachers several months ago.

This painting has tremendous symbolic meaning behind it. Tremendous.
I painted this shortly after I experienced a life-changing epiphany. Back in December 2009 I was in college and one night I suddenly became aware of the stupidity of my possessions. I just began throwing so many things out, clearing out my wardrobe, clearing out my drawers and was left with necessities. I left myself with simplicity. When I withdrew from my program and moved back home for the new year, I remember cleaning out my bedroom and literally having very few belongings. I was revived. Refreshed. A clean slate. Ever since then I have repelled materialism.

I will go into more detail about this revelation (there is much, much more to talk about) and the entire journey that follows on my personal blog. In fact, I am going to begin postings in December when it marks the day that changed everything for me.
